1) What does your name mean? Do you like it? If you were given an option to change, what would it be ?
Ashish means blessing. I love it,especailly since my full name is Ashish Thomas Mathew my initials go as ATM. Well if i were to change it ,I would go in for some german name like bismark or kaiser...sounds kinda groovy!! ;)

2) What do you do for a living ? What was your first career ambition ?
I'm a software er, first ambition was to be a cop(inspirated by movies).

3) What was your earliest hobby ? How different is it from your current one ?
Collectings cars,...now travelling and reading.

4) One good thing you like about yourself, and one bad thing you want to change about yourself ?
I appreciate the good things that i have, i count my blessings.
I wanna stop smoking, and i am easily irritable.

5) What was the most craziest thing you ever did ?
I have blocked a town bus lying on the road....2nd yr college strike!!

We got Tata sky installed at my appartment,with the cricket fever on we left no stones unturned.But the sad part is that some voltage fluctuationg occured on friday and there was a black out and after that my tv has gone haywire!! Karthic brought a technician home today morning and hopefully when i get home tonight the tv would be alright.

The weekend was uneventful, i learnt something interesting yesteday from amo.

You see statues in parks with a rider on top... sometimes the horse has his single foreleg raised, in some statues both the fore limbs are raised and in others all four limbs are firmly on the ground.Well it has a meaning and it goes like this..

When a rider is on horse with all four legs on the ground,it means that the rider was in war and died a normal death. When one leg is raised it means that he was injured in the war and died a normal death..and when both the forelimbs are raised it means that the rider died in a war.

I am really sleepy.

I have been all day.

Except for directly after that mug of coffee... It kept me feeling awake for about five minutes.

My DVD player continues to remain insane!! I still can't play the movies and worse even the gaming DVDs aren't working.
Worse news,last night my a/c caused an overload and the line went dead,best part we blew an entire line supplying current to 3 other flats!!
Dennis fell flat on the bed at 10:30,Hari followed...Me and Oma sat up till 12 on the steps...We then walked a mile over to Monty's place and spent the night there.

In better news-
Tommorrow I got my convocation.I'll be seeing my folks after an year!! :-)
I have got the train tickets booked,hotel accomodation done,called up a rent-a-car agency and hired a car.
the best part is I got them all done without moving ma a$$!!! with an inet connection and a couple of calls..voila!!!

I'll be posting my Convo pics sometime end of the month,cos dad's taking the camera to blore.I'll collect it when I go over to see them, end of the month.

I have... failed to do much of anything else today. I'm sure that there are things I should be doing, but I'm too sleepy to think of them...
wtf!!! its Friday and I don't wanna work on friday!!!!

BTW...will be catching blue mountain express to Coimbatore tonight!! Happy journey Ash!!

OMG...

My laptop has stopped reading DVDs ,think the lens has finally got f***** up!! Oh with all the DVDs I have been watching lately it was only time before the lens got screwed. I bought a dozen DVDs from Pondicherry recently,last weekend I plugged my ear phones and sat watching movies for 10hrs at a stretch.

I bought the laptop in 2004 and I have been married to it ever since,now its old and the RAM isnt fast as it was before.The DVD has stopped working...but I am still as much as in love with it as the first day I bought it....

I have a friend who inspires me a lot, even though he would be quite skeptical of the idea of him having any sort of influence on anyone, let alone an inspirational one.

We did our training together and I admit,I wouldn't have scraped through by the least margin had it not been for him.We fag up together and laugh away at all kinds of jokes ,actually I have never got this insync with anyone after college,especially since my work place is all business!!

My coffee was cold when I poured it!

Ugh.!!!

This wouldn't be an issue if I used a machine like most people, but I love the coffee day machine we got near my cubicle . But it's cold enough that sitting on the counter as long as the pressed coffee does makes the beverage cold by the time it's ready... I don't know what to do about this.

I also don't know what to do about my tea, which is having the same problem. I've yet to have the first cup cold, but I make pots and the second usually is now. I have thus been looking into a tea cozy, but I have yet to find one I can stand.

We got this ISO auditing coming up,so i got to clean my sys off any mpeg,wav files and freewares..so that goes for the games and movies too.I had over 2gb of malayalam songs and it was a pretty good collection,mostly oldies.

My local library fined me for delay in returning the novel,50bucks.

I was supposed to start intense GMAT preps after shifting but I havent even unpacked the stuffs yet.Hari and Karthi have started CAT preps and I am off to bed at 9.Why ash????????? what r u doing moron???

I have shifted to my new appartment , its pretty nice.Friday i was walking around the locality and exploring the place.Found this real neat i-net cafe,2 laundrers,couple of good eat outs(expensive though) and some provision stores. My roomies left for the weekend to their places and the whole house was left to me....

Saturday I went to T.nagar and did soem shopping, bought 2 bags.a backpack and a shoulder bag..
I had brunch at Indian coffe house.I bought a new cannon camera,it cost me a fortune but it was worth it.
Its a 5 mpx camera with 4x zoom and 512 mb card.I lost the IXUS series camera dad got for me,they still dont know that i lost the cam. they would skin me if they found out....I got to cook up a story about the new cam when i meet them on saturday.

Saturday we got convocation at college,looking forward to it.I will be finally wearing the gown and receiving the degree, my folks have flown down for the convocation.I feel good about it,considering the fact that they never as such showed much interest in my college life.

Got a new Leesures,black color.
thats about it......gonna have ma bfast.

Its been long awfully long since i last wrote my journal and so much has passed since...

Well for short
*I cleared all my training exams and have secured the job.
*Got a pay hike...yay me!!!
*Had a wonderful X'mas with family!
*Had an even more eventful new year!
*Havent got my pay since dec end,so i am broke now!!
*My account has atlast seen a 2 digit figure....
*Started reading Ayn Rand - Atlas Shrugged last year...still reading it.

i have lost interest in writing the journal,got to rekindle the fire.....maybe that why i took so long
in writing something.....

Antoher friday,another day to unwind and get ready for the week ahead.
My results are probably gonna come out on monday so that means the ticking time bomb is gonna blow on Monday, why is it a monday?? Miserable Monday!!!

I am gonna flunk ,i know that..i am gonna sing the song "Hum honge kamyab ek din" after i get my results... Me , Vahitha and Niji are pobably gonna be split up. so charlie is gonna miss his angels...
:(. Our cubicles have been changed and by mere fluke we may end up together if the order of arrangement turns out to be 5 per cubicle.

ajay has swapped to bangalore so i am the king of the bog...the whole appartment is mine now!! kinda lonesome but heck i am king!!!

I had a very eventful weekend, following the mains(Compre) Karthic came over to my place to spend the night. Saturday I woke up with mild fever . My laundry basket was filled with 2 weeks clothes. Loa

I hit to Chennai by afternoon taking the rails to cover the 20km journey. The train was jam packed and I wriggled myself into a seat ,there were 2 humungous guys sitting on either sides and I sat like ‘nanna munna pyara batcha ’ in between them clutching my bag. Kodammbakkam station was 5minutes away when I decided to get up and make my way through the crowd to the exit. The wasn’t even space to place a needle head , I kept up being polite to make some road but to no avail. We reached Kodambbakkam and the stop was only for a mere half minute , that’s when I started using all my limbs pushing and pulling people getting abuses and hurling back …only to dive out of a moving train.. trust me electric trains pick up speed pretty fast..i was lucky enough not to fall back into the tracks..I was shaking all over when i called up varun to meet me on the subway,with Infy laying special emphasis on safety on the rails... I just couldnt believe i jumped from a moving train which was something i consider almost a CARDINAL SIN!!

Spent the evening at Spencer's ,bought some clothes and everything was on the Card!! Night we went from pharmacy to pharmacy buying medicines for the cough which Padma had prescribed. Sunday my fever became worse and the sputum turned from yellow to green.

Varun and me left for the hospital where we had an Xray and blood test done,the Xray showed up nothin much but the WBC count was rather high which meant an infection of some sort.so now I am on some heavy anti biotics.!! I am feeling better now,save for the occasional coughs and temperature bursts!! Thankfully we havent started the second phase of the training,so i neednt

Day's Events

* Morning ,i was woken up at 1am from deep sleep cos some son of %#$# neighbor of mine was raising his bike at that god forsaken hour.i wanted to throw a brick on his head from the balcony, only my wet socks were hanging on the rope.So i had no choice of weapons.went back to sleep an hour later...

*Got my Hepatittis vaccines today,both A and B , cost me 1300rs.

*We were given a mock demo of the Compre Exam that too on power point slides.

*Wasted my time from 2-5pm doin nothin much ....thats precious 3hrs lost from 48hrs.

*now i m gonna swipe out and run home to bury myself with the books.

*Called Mayurah and arranged her swipe with Rakshit.

*Got my PAN forms filled.

I got a my Mains on friday,I am half way thru....got another 48hrs before i hit the exam!! 48hours somehow seem long and pleasant!! but i got 9 modules to cover and i am just done with 5 of them.....

That apart,I got ma pay check and what a pay check that turned out to be!! So i am off to unwind for the weekend.Niji is off home to Palaghat(i am turning green) for Onam. She has promised me chips,and i am waiting......waiting....waiting...

Karthi is off to his place,seems Rhyan has come from Trivandrum ..boys might be off for a night off!! I am gonna unwind today,cos its Friday and I really really need to energizze myself for the upcoming week.....

Another colleague has passed away today morning, another train accident. He was Programme Manager for Quality over here,another member lost from the family....

Think this is the 3rd person mcity is losing out to the rails in one year.
